Rewrite 2 assignments
Oz hey. I’m just gonna explain you things and you just take your time. Whenever you have time:) So I have to redo 2 written assignments. Task 1 would be a letter. I will attach screenshots of my works from last year so you get an idea (I got a 5 for WAs) My English teacher sent me a text which we can base our letter on. I will also send it to you. Task 2 has the following question: “how does the text conform to, or deviate from, the conventions of a particular genre, and for what purpose?” Here my teacher recommended the following: “Task 2 would look at “The Tempest” in terms of its relationship to other Shakespearean drama. Points of contrast would be the playwright`s adherence to the three Greek unities/ the fact that the plot is original to WS/ that the source was contemporary rather than traditional//the lack of female characters/that the father-daughter relationship is totally one-sided with the daughter little more than a passive receptacle for the father`s plans….. Points of similarities numerous because it is a drama that shares typical techniques such as the reported past/dependence of the imagination of the audience for scenes like the shipwreck, etc. These points could be incorporated into the outline necessary for Task 2….” Comment for task 1 from teacher: The Task 1 article is from the August 10th edition of the International New York Times. It is a fairly humorous article about how world fluency in English is producing speakers of English who use varieties of the language that are independent of “native” sources of the language with the effect that native speakers have lost “ownership” of English (this information could go into your rationale). I will ask my son if he can scan the article to you so that you can read a copy. General issue here is Language & Culture and the evolution of languages over time…..
